WILDSPACE

From idea to real-world brand in 1 week

Wildspace came to us as just that… an idea.

A gamified world built around some of South Africa’s most recognisable brands. Think Yum Yum Peanut Butter, Ouma Rusks, and even Checkers Sixty60 drivers… all turned into characters across a mobile game and collectible cards.

But at that point, it was just concepts and ideas. We were brought in to figure out how to take that idea and make it real… quickly.

With limited information, we focused on creating something people could immediately understand and connect with.

We scouted children and their parents through our Crea8tor Connect platform within a week, turning them into the faces for the brand.

Then brought the concept to life through short-form, relatable content… shot directly in a Checkers store to ground the brand in a real-world environment.
At the same time, we extended Wildspace beyond just content.

We designed, created and produced physical merch within 24 hours for a Comic Con activation in Johannesburg… giving the brand a tangible presence before it had even properly launched yet.

What worked:

  • Speed over perfection
  • Real people bringing the concept to life
  • Grounding a digital idea in physical, recognisable spaces
  • Creating tangible brand assets early (merch, characters, content)

And what didn’t:

  • Waiting for perfect information
  • Overthinking the concept before testing it in the real world

Instead of sitting on an idea… we built around it, tested it, and brought it to life in real time.

The result?

A fully realised brand presence across content, retail, and live activation… built from almost nothing in just one week.

But more importantly, it proved something we’ve always believed at CMZA. You don’t always need perfect conditions to launch something great.

You need to move.
