2.3M+ TikTok views from a strategic format

At the time, TikTok in South Africa had shifted. It was becoming less about polished content and more about real people in real moments with real reactions.

Most brands hadn’t caught up yet. But, we built around that.

We worked on creating something people actually want to watch, share and talk about.

Instead of chasing one big viral video, we created a simple concept that could repeat:

Ask someone their shoe size. If it matches, they get a free pair.

The strategy captured real people’s unscripted reactions and whatever happened next.

Each video followed a clear flow. A quick hook, the question, that moment of “wait… could this actually happen?”, then the payoff.

Our strategy broken down:

Stop treating Instagram like just a content platform and start treating it like a conversion channel.

We focused on:

  • Real, unscripted reactions
  • A simple, repeatable format
  • Content built on curiosity

And avoided

  • Overproduced edits
  • Forcing trends
  • One-off ideas

The result?

The top video reached 600K+ views, with strong engagement across multiple posts.

More importantly… it worked more than once.

A clear shift from trying to go viral once, to building something that keeps performing by truly connecting with a brand’s audience.
